Toronto police have deployed extra officers around the downtown core "as a precautionary measure" due to the attacks in Paris Friday night.

Extra officers were not called in, but those already on shift were redeployed around the city, Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook told CBC News.

She could not say how many officers had been moved and if they were stationed at specific sites.
