For the 55", you need to sit closer than 8 feet to see an improvement of 4k over 1080p.
9 feet is the limit where you can't really tell the difference between 4k and 1080p for a 60 inch TV.

Great overall picture quality, in both a pitch black room and a very bright one.
Upscaled 1080p content doesn't improve the picture quality.

You really need native 4k content if you want to enjoy the higher resolution, as well as sitting closer than 10 feet of it.

Limited viewing angle. While the picture can still be seen, it losses saturation of the colors.

High input lag, which is noticeable in fast paced video games. Casual gamers won't mind it though.
