You don’t get to choose your country of birth,
Once born, forever you’re tethered,
My country has gone to war, full of verve,
And nothing I did could prevent her.

Some rule till they drool,
Some travail till jail,
But this pain is too much to thwart:
My country today is completely derailed
And I can’t offer support.

And how can one deal with everyday things
If everything’s seems so absurd.
No need to attempt to grow halos and wings,
But abstain from becoming a turd.

The choice must be made, it can’t be deferred,
