Internal Description:
Our client, is looking for a Data Architect to join their team on a permanenrt hire basis.

Location – In Scarbrough - shuttle bus runs from subway to our clients location)

Salary - Can go as high as $137k base if need to
Target Bonus is 15% with stretch bonus up to 25%

Vacation - 3 or 4 weeks to start (depending on tenure of last position)


Job Description:

Data Architect role is responsible for performing analysis, modeling, data flows, creation of standards and process with a broad enterprise perspective and will specialize in the development and integration of enterprise architectures to meet business needs.

The role requires a high degree of understanding of the movement of data between legacy and new generation insurance systems within the enterprise and ensures that the correct technologies and integrated strategies for data are delivered.

The Data Architect will assist in creating and follow Our Client’s Architecture model and formalized enterprise architecture in order to develop and implement a multi-year roadmap, and will be responsible for developing policies and governance with regard to data privacy and Quality.

This role will also be responsible for Enterprise Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence teams in the development of a stable and efficient data architectural structure that enhances Our Client’s ability to use and manipulate data in the areas of reporting and analytics.

The success of this role relies on a good mix of technical, business and interpersonal skills and the ability to differentiate between business processes and the technologies that enable them.


Responsibilities:
Participates in the Information Management team on planning process to understand projects alignment with the enterprise systems roadmap.

Provides services in Data Mapping, Data Modeling, Analytics, Reporting to respective project teams

Closely work with Data Governance team to ensure data standards and review the architectural artifacts for projects

Closely work with technical teams and business teams and provide necessary advisory services for data management tools and procedures.

Education and Experience

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered

At least seven years of experience in related roles.

Experience in Insurance industry is preferred

Technical Requirements

Ability to interpret and translate ambiguous situations into a structured design with clearly defined deliverables
Experience with creating a new data warehouse from start to finish is highly desired

Master data management, data quality, data governance, single version of truth e.g. data integrity, data maintenance, data flow and architecture

Experience in analysis, design, development and deployment of complex software solutions involving on-line transaction processing, client/server and web applications.

Experience in research and the development of emerging technologies used in business opportunities

Experience in information management, data modeling, data analytics, database design and development

Strong organizational, written and oral communication (including presentation) skills.; Microsoft Office products expertise a plus

Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.

Experience in computing/storage/network architectures

Excellent problem solving, decision making, time management and multi-tasking skills.

Ability to work well within a team/consultative environment.

Experience in Teradata 13.x - ( Preferred)
