... carrier has departed on its second deployment, officials announced on 15 February. The carrier will support operations in the European, Middle East, and African regions.

The Bush CSG will support US Fifth and Sixth Fleet commanders, carrying out maritime and theatre security tasks in the Mediterranean and Gulf regions as well as supporting Operation 'Enduring Freedom' in Afghanistan.

USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) has also departed Naval Station Norfolk for a separate deployment, to conduct ballistic missile defence taskings in support of Fifth Fleet operations in the Middle East and North Africa region.
