The Supreme Court of Canada has dismissed an appeal in a conflict of interest case that threatened to remove Toronto Mayor Rob Ford from office.

In a decision posted on its website, the Supreme Court said the case has been dismissed with costs.

The appeal was launched by Clayton Ruby, the lawyer for Toronto resident Paul Magder, who accused Ford of violating the Ontario Municipal Conflict of Interest Act and filed a lawsuit against the mayor.
