but then next Great War will be fought in Middle East, not Europe. And neither Russia, nor Europe will participate. They have no real resources to commit to that war.

US will participate but it is not clear to what ends. Sunni fighting shia is not something americans really care for in the long run. Protecting saudis only goes so far.
