The Applicant is proposing three 6-10 storey buildings, two of which will be designated as elder care facilities and one a residential condominium. While the total number of apartment units had dropped to 250 units, we are still very uncomfortable with any building heights greater than what current exists in our community. They have also proposed an increase in the total number of townhouse units from 61 to 120 and the proposed density of 370 units is still far too high. These new proposals do not alleviate our community's critical concerns around increased traffic and capacity issues with our water, sewer, electrical and the public schools in our community and we will continue to apply pressure during future negotiations to bring down the density to a reasonable level.

Although the City’s current development plans specify the extension of Apple Blossom out to Bathurst Street, the Applicant is proposing the elimination of this relief road. This is especially concerning given the very high density nature of the Applicant’s revised proposal. It is inconceivable that any kind of high density development application would be considered by the city without the inclusion of the Apple Blossom relief road. The Applicant cannot have high density housing without providing necessary traffic relief. If the road is eliminated, the density must come down accordingly.
